I found an amazing article in the Los Angeles Times written by a 72 year-old gay male on why straight people hate gay people. It addresses all subjects of homosexual discrimination from unfair taxation to taking away their legal right to love. I love this author's perspective because it is so real and so passionate. It brings real stories of hatred against gay people into full view from a standpoint of someone who is human and has human emotions just like every other person. It also shows the similarity between hating homosexuals and electing people in office who hate homosexuals, for both is an act of hatred, whether or not these actsions represent your opinion of gay individuals. The author of this article is well-informed, as he has both researched this topic for his novel "The Tragedy of Today's Gays" and (being a member of the gay community) has lived through this hatred as well.
Everyone should have the chance to read this segment.
